I just don't quite understand how the picture inside someone's head gets projected on to a canvas, a piece of paper, the back of a napkin, or a digital screen or tablet.
Words are another matter. I've spent most of my life working with words to take what is tucked into the folds and pathways of my mind's eye and giving it some life outside my head.
But I would consider it safe to start by bringing Mr.Picasso into your minds, who said, " Everything you can imagine is real” .
We love to let our imagination run wild. And some even think that biotechnology will result in a Gattaca like future.(Oh yeah, they do!!!)
I reviewed a book last year called Survival of the Sickest. The author, Dr. Sharon Moalem, suggested that there are a lot of things that were adaptive to humans at an earlier time that have become detrimental to us in modern times. Although he did not say it, he implied that there are always trade-offs so that something which is good for us at one level can be harmful at others.Keep reading the last sentence again and again and it will make more sense every time you ponder over it.
But it’s almost impossible for me to find complete external validation in any one thought, desire, instinct or vision anymore. And am serious about it.After all my lessons (mostly learned by me the hard way), I conclude that all this was in vain.
Who do you want to be exactly like? Is there anybody in this world who’s laid down a template for your dreams and goals that you’d copy and paste over your own life’s story? The answer : a big NOPE!!!!!
You can ask people about anything you want to. You’ll never find the answer you want, just information with which to build your own idea and chart your own course.
Is “Bob Dylan: Don’t Look Back” the documentary of a genius iconoclast or was he a self absorbed pseudo-intellectual bully? It depends on who you ask.People tend to sway both ways.
But what matters is what YOU think, eh.(Maybe am right, maybe am not).
Nobody’s life template will ever lay evenly over yours. And in those times when they clash completely, you have to walk alone, with confidence that you’re creating your own template, made out of your own instincts and your own dreams and your own goals. And if you do it long enough, maybe someone someday will look to yours as the life to model theirs after.
